Within a former maize farm, we developed a wetland system flanking the Hartbeespoort Dam shoreline – the very first estate developed here. 
 
Our objective was to simulate elements of the Crocodile River prior to the dam being constructed.  We created a wilderness trail zone with bird hides in amongst the grasslands and woodlands we restored.

We were engaged to realign wetlands and redesign the structure of wetlands to accommodate the restoration of local biodiversity.  The project incorporated over 2km of restored habitat.  We reinstated the ecological function of the area, resulting in the return of high numbers of animal and bird life.

 We were initially approached to solve serious ecological problems within this golf course.  The primary issue being that indigenous trees were dying as a result of over irrigation.  We ended up redesigning wetlands and features, introducing a holistic local biodiversity program into the golf course – reducing resource utilization and ensuring protection of the large tree species.

Designed and built this estate’s eco systems, reinstating the destroyed plant communities within the residential node.  Three unique environments were recreated: a forest system, wetland system and a riverine system.

LONGMERE


Through the application of our “Land Use Model”, estates and golf courses are playing an important conservation role in the reestablishment of wild life habitats and reduction of natural resource consumption whilst creating healthy and attractive environments.

A 40Ha exclusive residence focused on the restoration of an old plantation.  We recreated what existed prior to plantation with the introduction of local, topographical features characteristic of the area.
